Louis Martini Winery is proud to announce that its Monte Rosso Vineyard won the California State Fair?s 2012 Vineyard of the Year award, beating some of the best wineries around. The prestigious wine award was formally presented at the State Fair Gala on July 6.

?Considered the crown jewel of Louis M. Martini Winery, the Monte Rosso Vineyard continues to be stewarded by the Martini family,? according to the announcement from the California State Fair.

Louis Martini Winery would also like to take this opportunity to introduce the 2008 Lot No. 1 Cabernet Sauvignon. The concept of lot wines at Louis Martini Winery dates back to 1968 when Louis P. Martini first made luxury cabernet sauvignons from selected barrels that he named by lot numbers. Sourcing fruit likely included Monte Rosso grapes and other vineyards from his friends in Napa Valley. The Martini lot wines produced in the late 1960s and early 1970s were considered among the most collectible of Martini's wines. Today, Michael Martini continues to enjoy access to premium Napa Valley vineyards and to blend cabernet sauvignon from the best mountain top AVAs, just like his father did.
